In the winter of 1984 I was born with pencil in hand. A few years down the road I was addicted to the Batman films and animated series along with the X-Men cartoons. This led to my first exposure to comic books. I still remember the details. Chicago. Toys R' Us. It was snowing outside. Toys R' Us used to carry these four packs of comics that came in a gray, cardboard display box. After sorting through all of my choices, my decision wasn't hard. I went with the Gambit limited series by Mackie and Weeks. It might not be the most groundbreaking or intellectual comic series ever, but what can I say... I was nine. After returning to the hotel room with my mother and younger brother, I carefully inspected each page. That was it. I was hooked.
Years down the road and I was living in Tucson attending the University of Arizona. I met Brittany, the love of my life. She's my support and inspiration. A dog, a wedding, and a dog later and I couldn't be happier. Let the good times roll.
I joined team Evil Robo starting with issue 3 of Ash-Tray Comics. I had just graduated and was handing out my portfolio around town looking for work. Charlie Harris introduced me to Eric Schock, who gave me the opportunity to draw six pages and a back cover for issue 3. Since then I've been onboard for the roller-coaster ride that is putting out and promoting a creator owned indie comic.
